My newest acquisition

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

Yesterday I went to a sports shop to buy a new running jacket because I’ve lost the old one (please don’t ask me about the circumstances). After 2 hours of deciding which jacket to buy I spent another 3 hours to think about if I should take medium or large size.
Finally, I made my decision and wanted to go to the cash desk but somehow ended up in the ice hockey department. The result was, that I bought this:

I’m looking forward to use them as soon as possible.

At the evening I wanted to ‘test-drive’ my new running jacket so I ran to Nallikari Beach. Although it’s quite far away it really paid off. That area is really nice. I’m going to take my camera with me when I go there next time.

Hacked Gadgets

I just came across this this website which features some pretty creative hacks involving the strangest things.
Here are some of my favorites:

Migrating my photos to Flickr

Monday, September 18th, 2006

Since I have signed up for a Flickr pro account last week, I thought that it might be a good idea to move my photos from photos.datenmafia.org (Gallery2) to Flickr.
I’m looking for a nice app which allows me to easily upload stuff from iPhoto to Flickr. Currently I just drag my photos from iPhoto to ‘Uploadr‘. Unfortunately, this is not the ideal solution since I can’t see in iPhoto which photos have already been uploaded. Anyone knows a better solution for my problem? Is there an app that allows me to ’sync’ my iPhoto library with Flickr?
Btw., new Nseries phones from Nokia now allow mobile photo uploads to Flickr out of the box: read it

Air Guitar World Championships 2006

Sunday, September 10th, 2006

Yeah, I’ve been there :-)
Sorry for not writing earlier about this weird event which occured 2 days ago but I’ve been pretty busy lately. It took place at Club Teatria. I really like this place because it is located in some sort of ‘industrial’ area with some factories next to it. It hosts many interesting events & concerts (e.g. on 29th September, there’s a concert of Moonspell).
We arrived at about 20:30 pm and the competition started about 1 hour later (iirc). There were 17 air guitarists - or maybe ‘freaks’ is a more appropriate description - fighting for the title. I think two of them were even from Austria.
Here’s a video of the winner:

I’ve also put some photos on my shiny NEW flickr pro account. Here’s a link to the photo set.

Besides from the AGWC there was another interesting event: The Oulu Music Video Festival. The screenings of the music videos took place in a building of the Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Although I was only there for one hour or so I really liked it.

Enough for today, I have to go to the sauna now.
