Really great idea: FON

Monday, March 20th, 2006

From the FON website:
What is FON?

FON is a WiFi revolution. Our objective: to build a Wifi world. Our method: to permit all users to synchronize their access points into one: FON. Pay for connection at home; connect anywhere. Join the FON movement!

Who is FON?

FON is an integration of those wanting to contribute to free universal communication and solidarity. We are a usernet growing larger every time we exchange part of our bandwidth for the ability to connect to the bandwidth of other FON members, in every moment from every location in the world.

iBook G4 harddisk replacement == damn complicated

iBook G4 harddisk replace
Oh, dear! It finally happened. The harddrive of my notebook crashed. Luckily, I was able to make a “last-minute-backup” of the most important stuff before it finally stopped working completely. Since Apple only grants 1 year warranty I had to replace it by myself. As you can see, replacing a harddisk of an iBook is not the easiest thing on earth. It took me about 2 hours to get it working, but at least I have a superfast 5400rpm harddisk now ;-)
